Adina Reyter Wants Jewelry To Be Easy
Because there's so much more important things to worry about.
In other words, she’s a girl after our own hearts. Adina Reyter was born into fashion – her family owned a knitwear company – so being a creative entrepreneur is practically in her blood. She’s also a wife and mother of three, which means she’s knows a thing or two about crazy schedules, never having enough time, and balancing it all. But even if you’re not married with kids, in the age of Trump, ISIS, #MeToo, and #Time’sup, who has time to fret over which necklace to pair with which bangle?
We certainly don’t, which is why we’re obsessed with Adina’s line. Her collection is so wearable and easy to style, you don’t have to stand in front of the mirror for ten minutes trying to make a look work. Her pieces give off that effortlessly chic vibe, but still are super unique and well-made so they make a statement without having to try too hard. We were so impressed with her line (which, btw, is completely ethically made) that we had to speak with her about her inspiration for starting her own jewerly line, and what luxury truly means. We also got a quick lesson in layering.
When you can’t find it, create it
“There was nothing available in fine jewelry that was everyday wearable, clean, classic but also modern and updated. I wanted jewelry that could be worn day to night, and still be modern but also elegant. I am always designing for real women of all ages who love fashion. Most women wake up, go to work or the gym, pick up kids or run to the market, have a lunch meeting, meet with friends etc. They want pieces that look great with whatever they are wearing, that they can wear all the time. We make that easy. Every day we do so much, we have so many decisions that we have to make. Jewelry shouldn’t be one of them. All of our pieces are designed with wearability, longevity, and fashion in mind. We create and design updated, fine jewelry meant to be worn and enjoyed every day.”
The modern way to layer
“You never want to look like you are trying too hard. A great necklace or two layered looks amazing. I love layering delicate pieces with some heavier ones. But, I also love the new earring trend – ear cuffs, mixed with all different studs and wings that climb up the ear. Any tips on someone just starting to curate a jewelry collection? I would always start with a great every day, never-take-it-off necklace. You can always build from there!”
How to choose the right piece for you
“Jewelry, unlike clothing, is so much more personal. You remember when or why you purchased the piece. You remember why and who gave it to you. It truly becomes a special keepsake that should work with your personal style. I love pieces that you can actually wear and enjoy every day.”
Curated, chic, classic
“We try to offer a clear, understated and beautiful assortment of jewelry that is not intimidating. Sometimes when there is too much choice, it is actually harder to decide which pieces you want. We make sure that we are always editing our line so that the best is offered. We design all of our necklaces with different places to clasp the chain so that they can easily be layered. We also offer necklace extenders that can be added to our chains so that customers can easily lengthen the pieces.”
Ethics are important, too
“All of our diamonds are set in India. Our chains and findings are from the US. Ethically made jewelry is very important to us, along with running our business ethically. We pride ourselves on creating a high-quality product at an incredible value and offering the best in customer service. We want to make sure that at every touch point with our company, our customers are having a positive experience. Jewelry is fun, it is beautiful and it should make our customers happy. We want to make sure that they feel that, and that begins with our manufacturing process. We work with only the best factories that have very stringent rules in place.”
True luxury is…
“Things that stand the test of time and that you personally love. If you love it, you will wear it, enjoy it, use it – it is worth it.”
We couldn’t agree more.
