Top Cruelty-free Picks At Revolve Beauty
It just got easier than ever to find amazing cruelty-free beauty products. You can thank us later.
When we heard Revolve was expanding to include a dedicated beauty space, we gagged. Guys, there’s forty-five (!) brands in total so that means there’s a lot to filter through if you want a beauty cabinet filled exclusively with cruelty-free products. Whether you’re shopping for skincare, makeup, hair, nails, or body care, #RevolveBeauty has got you covered. We love that there’s not just super well-known brands like Oribe and Aesop. They’ve also got some great up-and-coming brands like Anese and Herbivore Botanicals. (ICYMI: these are the HB products we’re obsessed with.)
We love shopping at Revolve because not only is the aesthetic perfectly in line with out personal style, but they also have a lot of high-quality brands that aren’t $$$. What’s also amazing about ordering from Revolve is that they have free two-day shipping. Always. You can also return anything unopened up to 30 days in case you change your mind. This came in handy one time when we ordered a product that contained an ingredient that didn’t work well with our skin. (Right before we used it, we read the list and realized it needed to be sent back ASAP.)
If you haven’t had the chance to scroll through all the goodies in the new section dedicated to your vanity, we got you. We figured we’d save you the time (you’ve got much more important #girlboss things to do than scroll, right?) do a quick roundup of the best cruelty-free products at Revolve Beauty.
Edward Bess Defining Lip Liner in Natural, $32. It’s so incredibly hard to find nude lip products that are flattering on deeper skin tones. This liner is designed to give you a precise line and the best part is that you don’t have to sharpen it. It serves as the perfect base to then add a lipstick or gloss over.
RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer, $28. If you want to look like you just got back from the best vacation ever, then try this bronzer. It’s a gorgeous cream formula that contains vitamin A and beta carotene, which helps improve the appearance of fine lines. It’s pretty sheer, so you’ll have that perfect natural glow look as opposed to a very sparkly or muddy look.
Ilia Illuminator in Polka Dots & Moonbeams, $34. Can you ever have too many highlighters? Okay, you technically can. But if you haven’t found your go-to highlighter yet, definitely try this one because it contains one of our favorite ingredients: rose hip oil. That means not only are you getting your highlight on, but you’re also correcting. Also, this cream formula (best if you wear contacts) comes in the most convenient stick.
Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Embrace, $56. This is a bit pricey for a blush, but the formula is so good it’s worth it. Not only is this nude-pink color is super pretty and flattering on most skin tones, but because it’s a cream formula, it’s perfect for achieving a more naturally-flushed look because you can blend it into your skin better than powders.
100% Pure Mascara, $25. We don’t know about you, but we want our mascara to be as clean as possible, especially since it’s going on such a sensitive area of our faces. This is a great formula to try because it’s completely made with nourishing, non-toxic ingredients.
Colourpop x Revolve Eye Shadow Kit in After Party, $30. This palette is perfect or a night out. Most of the shades are neutrals, so it makes the palette versatile enough to be a perfect travel companion. We particularly like the bottom three shades; they’re great for a subtle, but impactful smoky eye, if that’s your thing.
Edward Bess Threads of Silk Powder in Bellissima, $46. This is a high-end, cruelty-free must-try illuminator if you still searing for your go-to. It reminds us of something from the Bobby Brown range, but you can use it with the comfort of knowing that no animals were harmed during the manufacturing/production process. The best part is you don’t have to think about it. Just swipe your favorite face brush in all the shades and sweep anywhere you want to be glowing and luminous.
Herbivore Botanicals Phoenix Facial oil, $88. A beauty oil is an absolute essential whether you have oily, dry, or combo skin if you want a silky face. This one feels particularly luxurious when you apply it because it’s a tad thicker than the others in the Herbivore range. But that’s not all. It also contains rose hip oil, which is amazing for lightening dark spots and will not make you break out because it ranks super low on the comedogenic scale.
French Girl Organics Neroli Cleansing Wash, $32. We love this body wash because it’s formulated with rich, organic botanicals, which is super nice when we’re talking your cleanser — something that you’re working deep into the top layers of your skin. This baby also contains tea extract so if you’re feeling some breakouts coming, or just want to be proactive, use this a it will calm everything down.
RMS Beauty Lip & Skin Balm in Simply Vanilla, $25. This is a tiny jar of amazingness. The vanilla scent is so yummy, it’ll take you back to your junior high days when you couldn’t stop eating your Chapstick off your lips. But this stuff is packed with biologically active ingredients and can also be used on dry patches on your skin, which is perfect for winter flaking. It’s also certified organic, gluten-free, and definitely cruelty-free.
Anese Swipe Right Illuminating Moisturizer, $38. If you have dry skin, or don’t have time to add highlighter to your regimen every morning, this is about to be your jam. This is another one that contains the magical rose hip oil, so you’re getting a dual-purpose product. Not only are you moisturizing, but because of the hard-working ingredients (which are all natural), you’re also correcting.
French Girl Organics Neroli Creme Fraiche Moisturizer, $46. If you’re like us and your a Parisian babe in the soul and looking for super hydrated skin, try this one since it contains shea butter that not only makes you skin feel crazy soft, but it also draws in moisture from the air.
Bath & body
Aesop Resurrection Aromatic Hand Balm, $97. Super, super pricey, but this 17 fl oz. bottle is pretty large and smells so good. It’s definitely wonderful on your hands, but you can also use this on your cuticles and feet if they’re in dire need of some hydration. And can we please have a moment for the chic, apothecaric packaging.
Herbivore Bamboo Charcoal Soap, $12. If you like detoxifying bar soaps that you can use daily, look no further than Herbivore’s Bamboo Charcoal soap. We’ve used this on our face and body and it leaves the skin silky smooth with no icky residue like so many soaps do. On top of that, it draws out impurities that things like pollution causes to build up, so if you’re in a dense metropolitan city like us, this would be an ideal addition to your vanity.
Anese Gotta Peace Out Hydrating Body & Hair Elixir in Coconut Neroli, $26. This is one of the best-selling elixirs from Anese’s range at Revolve, and for good reason. This one contains organic aloe vera, coconut water, and natural glycerin (which naturally attracts water and seals in moisture), so it’s also perfect for your hair, especially if you have a naturally curly mane that is always in need of hydration. Don’t worry – this doesn’t have alcohol in it, so you’re getting the best possible moisturizing power ever.
Aesop Avail SPF 50 Body Lotion, $41. Guys, protecting your entire body (not just your face) from damaging UVA and UVB rays is crucial. If you’re the type who is constantly forgetting to apply SPF when you leave the house, why not get a lotion made with all natural ingredients that has SPF 50 already inside. This eliminates the second step of having to layer a separate SPF formula over your normal lotion.
Aesop A Rose By Any other Name Body Cleanser, $45. So if you want to smell like a fresh bouquet of lush roses, this is about to be your jam. This amazing gel formula contains rose petal oil and botanical extracts that not only cleanses your skin, but leaves it smelling incredible. Perfect for right before a date.
Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Masque, $65. Okay, we’re addicted to beauty masks and that includes masks for the hair. Sometimes your hair just needs it. And then sometimes it might not, but they’re so fun, why not? This one is good to leave in for hours and hours and after your wash it out your hair with be bouncier and softer than ever because of how hydrating it is. It’s best to concentrate on your ends since that’s the oldest part of your hair and needs the most attention.
