Everything You Need To Try From The Beauty Brand You Probably Haven’t Tried Yet

We think Kahina Giving Beauty has the power to changes lives. Well, at least your skin.

In argan oil we trust. Surely by now you’ve heard Josie Maran or your favorite beauty influencer rave about it, and that’s because it is, in two words, the shit. Sorry for the lack of an eloquently-worded description, but it’s true. In the past few years it’s gained a cult following, and with reason. And guess what? The star ingredient in Katharine’s skincare line, Kahina Giving Beauty, happens to be our favorite skin-healing, beautifying, supercharging elixir, the aforementioned Moroccan argan oil. It has a whole laundry list of skin benefiting properties, including anti-aging (vitamin E), while being completely non-greasy and non-irritating, so we pretty much blindly trust that any product infused with this potent oil is going to work wonders for our skin. That said, you know by now that we’ve become so selective when it comes to the products in our lineup that if we see animal ingredients, parabens, mineral oil, artificial fragrances or any unnecessary water fillers, we pretty much consider it a pass. We’ve become quite the snobs, haven’t we? Anyway, you don’t have to worry about that with this brand.

Oh, and bonus? While the gorgeous, violet glass packaging is environmentally sustainable, it’s also perfect for #shelfies. Always a plus, right?

Facial cleanser

We’re so over harsh cleansers that leave your skin feeling tight and thirsty after you rinse. Yes, they may be super satisfying (especially if you have oily skin), but hate to break it to you, they aren’t actually doing anything good for the health of your skin. This cleanser has a light, creamy texture, that may seem a bit…well, lackluster if you’re used to using cleansers that foam up. But instead of using sulfates and other synthetics, this cleaner only uses plant-based ingredients like organic willow bark and papaya extracts to (very) gently exfoliate and eliminate toxins. So don’t be surprised that went you rinse off you’re skin is refreshed and clean (and possibly a little brighter?). And since it’s packed with high concentrations of vitamin E from the argan oil, we find ourselves massaging this cleanser for…well, maybe a little too long, just to make sure all the nutrients have a chance to soak into our skin.

Toning mist

Who doesn’t love a face mist? Seriously, who doesn’t (comment below) because we can’t figure out who wouldn’t enjoying spritzing aloe-vera-infused water that smells of Moroccan roses all over your face. Have to admit, though, we used to think they were completely overrated and unnecessary. Until we actually tried one (of course). And now we’re flat-out addicted to them. If you’re looking for one to add to your collection, just ran out of your regular and need a replacement or looking for one that doesn’t contain any to trade off with your current toning mist, we highly recommend giving this one a try. We loving keeping this one in the fridge, especially now that the weather is getting warmer. It’s just so damn refreshing.

Eye cream

Moment of truth? We’ve been using eye creams since we were sixteen, but we’ve never been true believers in them. We only continued to use them because, well, everyone says you should. This could be due to the fact that we don’t have any major issues that would warrant actual visual results. Granted, we both have pretty dark circles under our eyes, but they are hereditary (thanks mom and dad), so no cream or serum – no matter how magical it claims to be – can ever actually help us in this department. Plus, we’re too young to have any major fine lines or crows feet (possibly because we have been using eye creams for ten years now?), and have never dealt with under-eye puffiness since we don’t drink and always get at least six solid hours of sleep. Priorities, people.

That said, eye creams don’t ever really impress us, but this eye cream is actually exciting. Explanation: as soon as you tap it around your eye area, it literally glows. For real.
Heads up: don’t read “cream” and think this will be heavy underneath your eyes. Actually, it’s more a lotion than a cream. It absorbs right into the skin with minimal rubbing, which is always important when we’re talking about the eye area.

Brightening serum

It’s lightweight yet superpowered, so while it doesn’t weigh down your skin, you can feel it doing its work. It gives you an instant dewy effect that does make your skin seem brighter. As far as any long term results, give it 4-6 weeks before you see any major changes.

Side note: even if you don’t have any age spots, post-acne marks or particularly hyper-pigmented skin, we still think you should use some sort of brightening serum. Prevention is always the best medicine. Not only do these kind of serums reduce discoloration, boost radiance and even skin tone but they work on the offensive too. Kahina’s formula is generously infused with certified-organic white lily, Japanese wakame seaweed, argan oil, and green tea that will prevent future discoloration by inhibiting melanin production while protecting against free radicals – you know, the main cause in early signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles.

Moisture mask

This mask doesn’t make any substantial, life-altering claims, other than to deeply hydrate and plump your skin as its name suggests, which is, in part, what we like about it. It’s packed with essential fatty acids and potent antioxidants so it hydrates really well, and sometimes a mask doesn’t need to do any more than that. Right out of the jar, it’s thick and stiff – you can immediately tell it’s going to do what it promises (ha).

We know you’ve probably heard this before (because it’s true), but red wine (vitis vinifera) has amazing antioxidant properties, mainly because of its high concentrations of reservatrol. Your body (and skin) absorbs it taken both internally and topically, so maybe pop on this mask, pour yourself a glass of and chill for a moment? Favorite part of this mask is when you’re rinsing it off it emulsifies into a rich lather that is so comforting and conditioning.
